About the session

This is the story of The Journal of Urology, a peer-reviewed journal, and its Editorial Board. We've worked together to grow the foundational values of a team and publication that stand for more than chasing impact. We are committed to engagement, DEI, involving early career researchers, transparency, and instilling a vibe of belonging. The vibe needed to be a vertical integration, starting at the beginning of our processes all the way to the end, with full buy-in of our editors, authors, reviewers, readers, and community. Learn from our Editorial Board members, who lead demanding research groups and practices, yet prioritize this mission, and scholarly publishing community members willing to share their time and passion to help make us better. In the words our Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Robert Siemens, often borrows from Jerry Reed's "East Bound and Down": "We've got a long way to go and a short time to get there."

Managing Partner, Delta Think

Bonnie Gruber is the Managing Director, Market Research Practice Director, and a Partner at Delta Think. She has extensive experience in product strategy, marketing, pricing, and market research. She works with clients to help them understand their customers’ needs and, based on that understanding, to create or refresh individual products, product portfolios, services, and partnerships. Bonnie is an expert in market research methodologies. Throughout her career, she has led many efforts to transform previously print or print-native content into valued tools and offerings. Since joining Delta Think in 2012, she has continued to lead numerous customer insight initiatives and assisted clients in transforming new insights into compelling and successful products and services. Bonnie has more than twenty years of experience in publishing and technology, and has held senior positions in product strategy, marketing and market development, customer research, and product management. Bonnie holds a B.A. in economics from The University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from George Washington University School of Business.
Managing Editor, American Society for Microbiology

Adrianna Borgia is the Managing Editor of Microbiology Spectrum and Microbiology Resource Announcements at the American Society for Microbiology where she oversees the development and daily operations of the journals. Prior to that, she was a Production Team Manager at Elsevier, working with society-owned titles in the health & medical sciences fields. She is also a volunteer on the Generations Fund Committee for SSP and is the Vice President and Chair of the North American Global Event committee for ISMTE. Adrianna lives in the Philadelphia area, and she loves running, caring for her cockatiel, practicing embroidery, and watching the Phillies (even if they’re losing).
